Eco Tattoos

Eco-friendly tattoos offer a sustainable and environmentally conscious alternative to traditional tattooing supplies. These tattoos are created using non-toxic, plant-based biodegradable materials, replacing single-use plastics that are typically used during a service and reducing the environmental impact of the tattooing process.

Please notify Altar Tattoo at least one day before your appointment if opting for an Eco service.

An equipment fee of $20 will be added to your session to offset the cost of materials.

Tattoo Waste

Given the slow biodegradation rate of nitrile, vinyl and plastic, it's crucial to minimize excessive waste in landfills. However, it's essential to recognize the impact on our earth extends beyond biodegradability. There are major environmental concerns with the production, required water supply, storage, and distribution of these materials.

For example, regular nitrile gloves can take over 100 years to fully degrade and they leave behind harmful particles and chemicals in the process.

Eco-responsible nitrile gloves will biodegrade between 1 - 5 years, without leaving behind harmful particles. Good Judy's manufacturing partners also conducted studies on how their products affect soil and plants that are exposed, and found that it has no detrimental affects on their germination or growth patterns.
